You really want to take your photography to the next level and start selling your photos online, and there probably has never been a better time to be able to show your work to a wide audience. But when you start thinking of selling your photos online, it’s easy to get discouraged because it seems like everyone is a photographer these days. It’s hard to imagine why anyone would pay for images they could probably take themselves.
Don’t give up hope.
Photography is not simply a supply and demand business. There are so many other factors that come into play. Think about the bride who wants professional photos of her big day and not just a bunch of snapshots taken by the friend-of-a-friend. Or what about the mother who wants unique and creative photos of her children. Then there are marketing companies doing campaigns for the local tourism bureau. The local chef who needs photos of his new dishes for a menu. The point is, that while you might never gain world wide recognition, if you’re good, there is probably a market for your work at the local level.
Why not you?
All you need to get started is a strong technical skill set and the right approach to marketing. While we won’t be going into the technical aspects of photography on this website, we will take an in-depth look at your online marketing strategy.
